Services

Robots for real homes, without the $20,000 question.

Buying a humanoid robot outright means a five-figure purchase, a long waitlist, and figuring everything out yourself. Spare Hands is the service layer on top: we handle the machine, the logistics, and the learning curve — you just put it to work.

Robot rental & monthly plans

Start with a weekly trial in your own home, or settle in with a monthly plan. Flexible terms as the technology — and your comfort with it — grows.

Delivery & setup

We bring the robot to your door, set it up in your space, connect it, and walk you through what it can do — in person, at your pace.

Care between visits

Storage, charging, cleaning, and software updates taken care of. If something isn't right, we swap or fix — you never wrestle with support tickets alone.

Everyday household help

Tidying rooms, carrying loads between floors, resetting the kitchen, laundry support — today's humanoid robots, working with remote expert assistance when a task gets tricky.

How it works

From waitlist to working robot in four steps.

1

Join the waitlist

Tell us about your home and what you'd want help with. We'll talk through fit, timing, and current robot availability.

2

We deliver & set up

Your robot arrives with a Spare Hands team member — placed, connected, and configured for your home's layout.

3

Put it to work

Daily help with chores and routines. When a task is beyond the robot's autonomy, a remote expert can assist — only with your permission.

4

We handle the rest

Charging, care, updates, and support. Extend, pause, or end your plan as your household's needs change.

Why Spare Hands

Built for suburban homes, run by a neighbor.

Most home robots are being tested in city apartments. Our homes are different — multiple floors, big families, real clutter, real life. That's the world Spare Hands is built for.

Local & accountable

Spare Hands is based in Monroe, New York, and serves Orange and Rockland counties first. When you need help, you reach a person nearby who knows your home — not a ticket queue on another continent.

Made for big homes & big families

Stairs, playrooms, laundry for six — the suburban household is where an extra pair of hands matters most, and it's the environment we plan every placement around.

Hardware-flexible

We work with leading humanoid platforms as availability opens — including the 1X NEO — and match the right robot to your home, instead of locking you into one machine.

Privacy, explained up front

Home robots use cameras to see and sometimes need remote human assistance. You'll always know when your robot is active, assistance only happens with your permission, and you can pause it at any time.

FAQ

Honest answers, before you ask.

Which robots do you offer?

We place leading humanoid home robots as supply becomes available in our area — including the 1X NEO. Availability is limited industry-wide right now, which is exactly why the waitlist exists: households on it get first access as units arrive.

Is a human secretly controlling the robot?

No secrets here. Today's home robots combine their own autonomy with remote expert assistance for difficult tasks. Assistance happens only with your permission, the robot indicates when it's active, and nothing operates in your home without you knowing.

Do I need to be technical?

Not at all. Delivery, setup, connection, and teaching you the basics are all handled in person. If you can use a smartphone, you can live with a robot we placed.

What does it cost?

Plans depend on the robot and the term — weekly trials and monthly plans are both available, at a fraction of the cost of buying a robot outright. Join the waitlist and we'll quote current pricing for your home directly, with no obligation.

Where do you serve?

We're launching in Orange and Rockland counties, New York, and expanding across the New York / New Jersey suburbs. Outside the launch area? Join the waitlist anyway — it tells us where to go next.
